Colmonell is a village sitting by the river Stinchar in the south west corner of Scotland. The village is 5 miles from the sea, deep in south Ayrshire and sits near the border of Dumfries and Galloway.

It is a thriving community of around 200 hundred souls, with a historic church, a historic village hall and a historic pub.

    Valley Choir Spring Concert 2024

    The Stinchar Valley Choir will be performing a varied musical programme on Tuesday 28th of May at 7.30pm in the Colmonell Village Hall.

    The Mermaid sculpture, based on the ancient tale of the Mermaid’s Revenge, was installed in Colmonell in March 2023.

    ST COLMON CHURCH, COLMONELL is currently under threat of closure. The Church of Scotland has announced plans to close and dispose of the Church building by September 2023.

    This historic conservation village of Colmonell has now become a Biosphere Community, the seventh to be designated within Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere and the second in South Ayrshire.
